The Beach House is on the Fife Coastal Path, about an hour’s drive from Edinburgh or Dundee.
The Beach House
Finding the house
We are a 15 minute walk from Burntisland town centre.
From the town centre, first make your way to the beach. Once on the prom, turn left and walk along with the sea on your right. We are the house straight in front of you.
Coming along the Kinghorn Road in Burntisland, turn down Lochies Road, by The Sands Hotel.
There’s a railway tunnel signposted as Residents Only. Go under this tunnel then turn right down what looks like a footpath, where the sign reads ‘Beach House and Summer House only’.
We are then the second house. Pull into the driveway and park up.
The tunnel restricts the height of vehicles that can come straight to the house. It’s a domed entrance, so we can’t give an exact vehicle height, but as a guide, we have a Citroen Grand Picasso that fit under the tunnel, but it is too low for a Ford Transit.
We have two parking spaces available. We’ll always give priority to Blue Badge holders but there’s normally enough space for everyone.
If you’re not able to fit under the tunnel, parking is available on Kinghorn Road.
There are regular trains to Burntisland from Edinburgh or Kirkcaldy. Burntisland train station is a 20-30 minute walk, or a £3.50 journey by taxi.
The train station is not fully accessible. Please read our information on arriving by train if you would find it difficult or impossible to use a flight of steps.
The number 7 bus between Dunfermline and Leven stops at ‘Bowling Green’, which is less than a minute’s walk from the house.
Getting into the space
Our guest rooms are joined onto the main family home. As you look at the house, the guest space is on the left. Go through the gate and up the ramp there to get to the black wooden front door. Ring the bell, or access the keysafe, as agreed when you book.
